Outdoor Garden Beds
These garden beds were constructed not only to be functional but also stylish. Not only are these for gardening, but I designed and built them to also be a piece of outdoor furniture for the backyard. Screws are hidden so you don’t see any unsightly screw heads. The trim surrounding the top of the bed uses miters to give a sleek look.
To keep this bed organic for vegetables, I placed a liner made from polyethylene to act as a barrier. This provided separation between the treated wood and the soil. The bottom was slatted and drain holes were punched between the slats to allow for drainage.
These beds were made from corrugated galvanized steel and treated lumber. The bottom is entirely open for maximum drainage.
