Large Frame for 3D Lake Map
This frame was created to house a 3D wooden lake map (not by me). Due to do the thickness of the map it required a more substantial frame thickness. The outer part of the frame is comprised of Bubinga and the interior portion of the frame is comprised of Lacewood. The miters were reinforced with 1/2” copper rods to help prevent the miters from opening up due to wood movement.

In order for the frame to sit flat against the stone fireplace some of the stonework required grinding to provide a flat surface. I believe I was blowing stone dust from my nose for a couple days after this.
